Le Ciliegie is a 100% Barbera from Giovanni Manzone in Monforte d’Alba, in Piedmont’s Langhe. The grapes are macerated on the skins for 10 days, then aged two months in barrel and ten months in steel. The winemaker’s notes describe an intense ruby red with purple veins. The wine is rich and sharp, with red currant and prune notes. It pairs with tagliatelle, ravioli, and white meats.
