The DeForville family emigrated to Piedmont from Belgium in 1848 and established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860. Here, the family was instantly engaged in growing the Nebbiolo grape under the direction of Gioachino De Forville. Now, the fifth generation is in place, with Valter and Paolo Anfosso controlling the nearly 11-ha domaine.
Obtained from hand harvested Nebbiolo grapes from the cru vineyards of Loreto, Ovello and Cavanna vineyards in the municipality of Barbaresco. The Loreto is the top Cru wine for De Forville. It is a wine with a good body, rightly tannic and harmonious. Aged for two years in wood, it expresses its velvety flavor and aromas after a few years of storage in the bottle.
Wine Notes
